Update on the use and ownership of Paintball markers.

Since our statement on 19th January 2024 and subsequent update on 24th January 2024, we have had a lot of UKPSF members bring up certain aspects of the law. As we are not experts in firearms legislation and do not claim to be, we decided to get further advice from a firearms barrister to seek further clarification on the questions raised. We had tried to keep the advice/guidance simple, which may have left some room for interpretation. So, we are updating our advice as follows: Our core statement is still correct but for clarity will now be a little longer. The following is based on Home Office guidance and advice.  ‘Paintball Markers of any size can only be purchased by those over 18 for use in permitted activities such as skirmishing and re-enactment at a venue where suitable third-party liability insurance is in place. Paintball markers should be fired at no greater than 300 feet per second only with frangible Paintballs and the person in possession of the Paintball marker must ...

UKPSF Team Spotlight - Mayhem Tigers

The UKPSF Spotlight now shines onto a team that have been part of the fabric of UK Paintball for a Loooong time, Thanks for your support...

Alan Smith let us know a little about the Mayhem Tigers:

The Mayhem Tigers are one of the longest running teams in paintball history, first formed as the Mayhem factory team in 1986 by Steve Baldwin. Over the years the team has evolved with the game, playing across all formats from its woodsball origins to full xball and everything in between, competing at the Pro level internationally, the squad has featured many well known names and faces over the years.

At the end of 2003 the team name changed to the London Tigers as the nature and mainstream image of pro paintball was changing. Over the years the team has competed against the very best in the sport in the UK and internationally. Including legendary teams like Dynasty and Russian Legion.

In 2019 the lure of playing Joy Division at the GCC was too strong and we relaunched the Mayhem name to compete in ‘open’ 10 man cross format events. International open events are what made paintball great and gives an easier route for new players in to competitive paintball. We had lots of help to relaunch the team and send a huge thank you out to Mayhem Paintball, Planet Eclipse, Inception Designs, GI Sportz and Anthrax Paintball for all their help and support.

2020 has seen the squad grow to two 10 man teams that blends youth and experience, sup air and woodsballers. The team won the Open division at the ECPL, our first 10 man tournament since reforming as well as the Hyperball 6 man Covid cup. As the team gets more playing time together we are confident we can get back on the Pro podium again. The growth of classic and mixed format events is good news and is helping to bring new players in to the game and encouraging some of the old guard to dust off their kit.

We are 100% behind the UKPSF and support the amazing work they have done over the years to protect Paintball for all of us. Being a member is a no brainer. We should work together to better represent and grow the game we all love.
