Update on the use and ownership of Paintball markers.

Since our statement on 19th January 2024 and subsequent update on 24th January 2024, we have had a lot of UKPSF members bring up certain aspects of the law. As we are not experts in firearms legislation and do not claim to be, we decided to get further advice from a firearms barrister to seek further clarification on the questions raised. We had tried to keep the advice/guidance simple, which may have left some room for interpretation. So, we are updating our advice as follows: Our core statement is still correct but for clarity will now be a little longer. The following is based on Home Office guidance and advice.  ‘Paintball Markers of any size can only be purchased by those over 18 for use in permitted activities such as skirmishing and re-enactment at a venue where suitable third-party liability insurance is in place. UKPSF Team Spotlight - Spectrum Paintball Team

 

Paintball is such an inclusive sport where no matter what age, fitness level, sex or disabilities you fall into there is a place for you in Paintball. 

It was great to hear from Spectrum Paintball Team (Great Name BTW) and their connection with Autism and how they are supporting the UKPSF and players with Autism.

Captain, Benj Bear gave a bit more info about the team:

Spectrum are made up of players with Autism or have an understanding of autism. We have had lots of help getting off the ground and started. Jim from Warped and Nicky T have help out the team and we also have the help from some awesome players such as Tom Barrett and John Shelly.

We are based out of Outpost Paintball in Chester and we will be competing in the CPPS, UK Woodland Masters and other events such as North vs South in 2021. Spectrum will also be attending the next CPPS ref clinic as I want the team to grow and become a big part of the sport.

We played our first event at Warped in our new kit that we have had made by Nicky T and Anthrax and we love it. 

Every member of the team has become a supporter of the UKPSF.
